Central Bank to regulate bank commissions
The Mexican Central Bank has decided to rein in bank commissions to protect costumers. The banking regulator decided to eliminate certain bank accounts commissions from August 21, 2009.

Improving on Sovereign Risk Rate
On June 5, 2009 Mexico´s sovereign risk rate (measured by J.P. Morgan's EMBI+ index) declined to 214 basis points. This index provides an indication of market sentiment toward emerging markets debt. The new rate is very close to the ones described before Black October.

2009 GDP Forecasts
In the first quarter of 2009, the Mexican GDP reported a negative rate of 8.22%. According to the Mexican officials, the second quarter of this year is expected to show a similar tendency, but with a V turn in the second semester of the year. Bad 1st quarter of 2009
According to the National Statistics Institute, the Mexican economy shrank 8.2% in the first quarter of 2009 compared to the last year performance. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) plunge has continued since the economy fell 5.88% from the last quarter of 2008.
