Some say vote for Fidel the dog

July 03, 2009. 13:33

An intense debate on the convenience to invalidate the vote on July 5th mid-term elections has been experienced between politicians, activists and intellectuals. As a rejection to the political rhetoric from the political parties, some people have been calling to invalidate their vote. Others have joined the disagreement to the system by launching political campaigns that promote the vote for a dog named Fidel (in the image).

Supporters suggest that these movements will send a noise claim to the political class; their counterparts argue that they will only beneficiate the three main political parties. Some polls estimate a historic 5% of annulated votes. However, the reason for invalidation will not be announced because the Mexican law does not consider the segregation of annulated votes. At the end, nobody will know how many real votes were for Fidel the dog.
